3 Travel Tips for Visiting Egypt
Egypt is by far one of the coolest places I’ve ever been to. Not only is there so much to see and do, but the scenery is absolutely incredible. Egypt is full of rich history, and the culture is so unique. I learned so much during my travels through this amazing country.
That being said, it can be overwhelming trying to plan a trip where there are endless amounts of things to see. Although having so many options is amazing, it can be hard to narrow down a list of things to book. Well, I’m going to help you by giving you 3 tips and tricks for traveling through Egypt.
1. Where Should You Stay?
Tip number one: Stay at a hotel in the heart of the city. While looking for a hotel in a place you’ve never been before, it can be hard to know what is the most centralized location. You’ll want to stay in a hotel that is nearby Egypt’s most popular attractions, restaurants, and sites. Not only will this cut down travel time, but you may even be able to walk to different spots near your hotel, which would be super convenient. I would recommend staying at either The Grand Cairo Marriott Hotel and Casino or The Kempinski Nile Hotel: Garden City Cairo. Both of these stunning hotels are located in the heart of Cairo, Egypt. They both offer a short distance to some of Cairo’s most popular attractions. If you’re looking for great amenities, excellent service, and attentive staff, then either of the hotels will be perfect for you and your loved ones.
2. What Should You See and Do?
Tip number two: Explore Egypt’s most popular attractions. One of the many great benefits of Egypt is how much there is to do. They having shopping, site-seeing, river cruises, museums, and much more. The one thing I can guarantee is that you won’t be bored! But with so much to do, it can be stressful to know where to begin. After experiencing Egypt first-hand, I can definitely recommend a few must-see spots.
First of all, if you love shopping, or just want to browse through Egypt’s cultural shopping district, then you’ve got to check out the Khan el-Khalili. This amazing bazaar is huge and full of antiques, jewelry, glassware, and souvenirs. If you love to explore and site-see, then you’ve got to head over to the Great Pyramids of Giza or the city of Luxor, to see King Tut’s Tomb. Both of these experiences were amazing. I was completely in awe of the pyramids, especially knowing they were built from the ground up! Oh, and did I mention we got to ride camels? Lastly, if you would love to learn more about the culture, you’ve got to wander through the Egyptian Museum. This incredible museum is home to over 120,000 Egyptian artifacts. There is so much more to see and do in Egypt, but I would 100% visit all these locations again if I ever travel back to Egypt.
3. Where Should You Eat?
Tip number three: Try some traditional Egyptian cuisine. Egypt is full of unique and delicious places to eat. We had a few amazing experiences that I have to share with you all. Let’s start with my favorite, the Nile Maxim Dinner Cruise. We got to eat dinner while floating along the Nile River. Not to mention, we got to have dinner and a show with their talented entertainment on board. If you’re looking for traditional Egyptian cuisine, then you’ll love the Saheb El Saada. This restaurant is located in the heart of the city and was absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong with either of these restaurants, both far exceeded our expectations.
At the end of the day, whatever trip you plan for Egypt will be absolutely amazing. However, if you follow the 3 tips and tricks above, I guarantee you and your loved one will have an unforgettable time. Egypt is by far one of the most amazing places I’ve had the opportunity to explore. Thanks for following along. Stay tuned for more travel tips to come!
