Our European adventure took us to the heart of England, where we explored the vibrant city of London, the charming town of Bath, and the ancient mystery of Stonehenge. This second stop on our journey with the Big Guy Big World Family was a perfect blend of iconic landmarks, rich history, and stunning scenery.

London: A City of Timeless Charm

London, the bustling capital of England, is a city that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. From its historic landmarks to its buzzing streets, there’s always something to discover.

London isn’t just about the past—it’s a hub of modern attractions. Take a ride on the London Eye for stunning views of the city skyline or explore the cutting-edge exhibits at the Tate Modern. For shopaholics, the world-famous Oxford Street and quirky markets of Camden are must-visits.

Every corner of London has a story to tell. Stroll through the cobblestone alleys of Covent Garden, explore the vintage shops of Notting Hill, or unwind in the lush greenery of Hyde Park. Each neighborhood offers its own unique character and charm.

Highlights of Our London Adventure

  • The Tower of London: This historic fortress has stood for nearly 1,000 years, serving as a royal palace, prison, and now the home of the Crown Jewels.
  • Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament: Seeing the iconic clock tower up close was a bucket-list moment.
  • The London Eye: We took in breathtaking views of the city from this iconic observation wheel.
  • Buckingham Palace: The changing of the guard is a must-see spectacle of British tradition.

London’s rich cultural scene, historic pubs, and diverse neighborhoods made every moment memorable.

Bath: A Step Back in Time

Our next stop was the charming town of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Georgian architecture and ancient Roman baths. Walking through Bath felt like stepping back in time, with its golden stone buildings and cobblestone streets.

Must-See Attractions in Bath

  1. The Roman Baths: These ancient thermal spas were built by the Romans over 2,000 years ago and remain remarkably well-preserved.
  2. Bath Abbey: A stunning Gothic church with intricate stonework and panoramic views from its tower.
  3. The Royal Crescent: A beautiful crescent-shaped row of Georgian townhouses, perfect for photos.

Fun fact: Bath gets its name from the hot springs that made it a popular retreat in Roman times!

Stonehenge: England’s Ancient Wonder

No trip to England is complete without a visit to Stonehenge, one of the world’s most famous prehistoric monuments. Located on the Salisbury Plain, this mysterious stone circle dates back over 4,000 years.

Stonehenge Facts

  • The stones are thought to have been transported from Wales, nearly 150 miles away.
