Seki: Delicious Food With an Amazing View

Cappadocia, Turkey

During our stay at the Argos in Cappadocia, we ate at the restaurant located within the hotel called Seki. This place had amazing food! We ate both breakfast and dinner there and both times didn’t disappoint. Not only was the food and service great, but the views from the outdoor terrace were amazing. Seki is the most awarded and most popular restaurant in the Cappadocia region.

The Ambiance

Seki, which means “terraces on the slopes,” offers both indoor and outdoor dining options. You can’t go wrong with either option. The decor inside matches the theme of the rest of the hotel. The outdoor terrace has incredible views of the caves and tunnels that surround and interlock with the restaurant.

The Menu

Seki has a refined cuisine that offers a range of choices using a ton of local produce. There are options for everyone such as those of you who are gluten-free or vegan. For breakfast, we had omelets with various pastries on the side. They gave us a huge selection of toppings for the pastries that included honey, olives, Nutella, cheese, butter, sun-dried tomatoes, and apricots.

For dinner, we had shrimp, rib-eyes, grilled chicken, Testi Kebab, which is a local food from the area, and Yarma soup with barley, also a local favorite. The Testi Kebab is a dish made of meat and vegetables that are slow-cooked in a sealed clay pot. It’s cool because the clay pot that they serve the dish in is hand-made and on fire! The clay pot is used to help preserve the freshness, aroma, and flavor.

The cool thing about this restaurant is that the chefs follow the “Zero Mile” philosophy, which means that they make food with hyper-local ingredients. This is such a benefit to their ecological sustainability. They use products directly from the hotel’s garden, which is amazing. The sauces are made from tomatoes grown in the organic gardens of Argos in Cappadocia, which stretches out to the Pigeon Valley. They are truly dedicated to making sure every dish is fresh and delicious.

This was an amazing restaurant with delicious food. They deliver not only amazing dishes but excellent service. I loved that all the ingredients were fresh and organic. I would highly recommend Seki if you are staying at the Argos in Cappadocia. In other words, if you have any further questions or would just like to send me a message, you can here.
