The Grand Cairo Marriott Hotel and Casino

While traveling through the city of Cairo located in Egypt, we stayed at a couple of different hotels. The grand hotel I am writing about today is called the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino. This Marriott was stunning. From the beautiful decor and various dining amenities to the excellent service, I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to travel through the city of Cairo.

Location

This Marriott hotel is on Gezira Island, which is located on the Nile River, in central Cairo, Egypt. The island is connected to the city of Cairo by four bridges, each sitting on the east and west sides. This high-end hotel and casino are centrally located, which is super convenient. It’s just a short distance away from golfing, the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, and the Cairo Opera House. 

Amenities

There are so many great features to this hotel. They have several dining options, some requiring reservations and some not. They have a steakhouse, an Italian restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, a bakery, and many more. Needless to say, if you’re in the mood for a certain style of food, the Marriott has got you covered.

A luxurious spa and fitness center are also available to the guests. The spa offers several services including massages and facials in case you need to wind down after a long day exploring Cairo. The fitness center not only includes high-end machines but also offers fitness counseling and both men’s and women’s lounges. While at the hotel, you can also enjoy a fun night at the hotel’s famous casino. They have a ton of room options to fit your needs. Our room was super nice, as you can see below, with a great view of the city.

COVID Policies

Throughout our stay at the hotel, we were super impressed with the overall cleanliness of both the staff and the guests. The hotel has taken extra precautions throughout the pandemic. Here is what to expect during your stay at the Cairo Marriott Hotel. The staff members will be wearing masks and will try to have the least amount of contact possible to remain socially distanced. Certain high-traffic areas are constantly being cleaned such as restaurants, fitness centers, and pools. The spa is currently closed, as well as the sauna and jacuzzis. The gym, lounges, and restaurants are currently operating at a limited capacity.

From what I could tell, the Marriott is dedicated to keeping both the guests and staff members safe. I felt very at ease staying here, especially with their above and beyond approach to proper sanitization. If you are apprehensive at all about traveling during this pandemic, rest assured that this hotel will be looking out for your best interest throughout your stay.

Our Experience

This hotel was amazing. The decor was so grand, especially with the giant crystal chandeliers hanging in the lobby. This Marriott truly felt like luxury.
