The Houseboat Grill: A Must-Try Restaurant in Montego Bay, Jamaica
I’ve recently been spending time in Montego Bay, Jamaica. What a beautiful place! So many hidden gems to discover and so many kind people to meet along the way. If you’ve been following my travels, then you know that I like to tell you about the best places to eat and stay. Well, I wouldn’t be doing this blog justice if I didn’t take time to tell you about The Houseboat Grill, a must-try restaurant in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The Houseboat Grill
So, what makes The Houseboat Grill a must-try restaurant in Montego Bay? First, it literally sits over the water. To make things even more fun (and exotic), you have to take a little boat that looks like a house in order to get from the shore to the actual restaurant. Second, the food is delicious! Our group loved everything we tried. Last, the views are beautiful. We ate right at sunset, which was perfect.
According to The Houseboat Grill website, the boat has a really fascinating history. It was built in 1970 in St James and was originally used as a bar and nightclub. It was even used as a green room for the artists performing in “The Jamaica World Music Festival” in 1982. “The Houseboat Grill” officially opened in 2001, featuring an international menu created by Chef Rich Nurse.
Needless to say, I highly recommend The Houseboat Grill to anyone traveling to Montego Bay!
