The Grand Wailea: A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Hawaii

During our fun trip to Hawaii, we stayed at the most luxurious, beautiful resort. The Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort far exceeded our expectations. This resort was stunning. It’s located on Wailea Beach on the southwest shore of Maui. From the beautiful decor and various dining amenities to the excellent service, I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to travel through this beautiful island in Hawaii.

The greenery, landscape, and architecture are so amazing. There were gorgeous fountains, ponds, and sculptures scattered all over the property. We were just steps from the beach and had stunning views of the turquoise water from our balcony. This resort definitely depicts the true beauty of Hawaii.

Amenities

There are several dining options available to the guests, which is super convenient if you don’t feel like leaving the resort after a long day in the sun. From sunrise to sunset, get a sense of Hawaii at this resort. You can start the day by grabbing breakfast from Cafe Kula, have a nice dinner from Bistro Molokini, and end the night by enjoying delicious cocktails from the Botero Lounge. The best part is that you can make reservations to see a show at their Luau.

Grand Wailea has some of Maui’s top pools and water activities. They have waterslides, rapids, a rope swing, and more. The Hibiscus Pool, which is only open to adults, is the perfect place to soak up the sun and indulge in true relaxation. There’s also the Canyon activity pool, which consists of a 2,000-foot-long, 25,700-square-foot, 770,000-gallon pool area. It’s made up of nine separate pools on six different levels and is connected by a river with rapids and mild currents. There are also four jungle pools, five interconnecting slides, a whitewater rapids slide, a Tarzan pool with rope swing, a sand beach, six waterfalls, and caverns. It’s so cool, and your entire group is guaranteed to have a blast.

Along with the outdoor activities and dining, they also have a nice fitness center and spa. The fitness center is made up of several new machines and is super clean. The spa offers tons of services that will kick up your vacation up a notch. Needless to say, this resort caters to making sure the guests are having a great, relaxing time.

Accommodations

The rooms are incredible at the Grand Wailea. The rooms, depending on which you choose, will have a private lanai and are only steps away from the resort’s activities, restaurants, and shopping. The suite included a separate living area and a nice, spacious bedroom. The decor and style of the rooms are very clean, modern, and up to date. There are so many options to choose from for families and groups of different sizes.

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone planning a trip to Hawaii. Our group was blown away by the views, service, and amenities offered. I would definitely stay here again. Hawaii is a magical place. If you ever find yourself on the east coast – come stay at Hotel Marcel in New Haven CT- it’s the first LEED Platinum certified hotel in the US. And a very cool brutalist building built in 1969 by Marcel Breuer. Would be an awesome write up and you can come visit me at the bar!
